Johnson Hall scores big at annual “Bidding Bonanza”
On Thursday, March 27, Johnson Hall hosted the 17th annual Bidding Bonanza, an auction that supports the Johnson Hall Scholarship and staff training. During the event, a Chinese auction, a silent auction, and a live auction took place.
The Bidding Bonanza was originally established to raise money for staff training and development and put on a fun event for not only those on the SUNY Oswego campus, but for Oswego’s communities. Raising funds for the Johnson Hall Scholarship Fund, a scholarship that first year residents of the hall are eligible for, was a primary goal for the event.
The Johnson Hall Scholarship Fund is awarded to a current resident in Johnson Hall that exhibits a passion for giving back to the college and Oswego through community service, extracurricular involvement and a drive for academic success.
The items up for bid included an iPad mini, a Kindle Fire and autographed Walking Dead memorabilia. At the end of the event, Johnson Hall raised over $4,000.
