OSWEGO N.Y.–Looking for family fun this easter? Well look no further! The Oswego County Youth Board is partnering with a few businesses to bring the Easter Bunny to children across Oswego. Businesses include PJC’s contracting, Tut’s Hair Salon, as well as the Oswego Police and Fire Departments.
In lieu of their annual easter egg hunt, which takes place at Breitbeck park every year, they will be driving by neighborhoods on the east and west sides of downtown Oswego throwing candy to children standing in their driveways or street corners.
The parade will feature six cars that will slowly drive-by families with the Easter Bunny and familiar face, youth board member Jennifer Losurdo, riding in the trunk. Losurdo coordinates all of the children’s events in the Oswego community and says she loves her job.
“Like I said, who can say that they love their job, and have fun doing it?” Losurdo said.
She also says that events like these are essential to the community as it gives something for children to occupy themselves with it. And without her, no one would even plan or think of these events.
“I enjoy seeing the family and the kids happy. If I give them something to do that makes me happy, because if I didn’t do it they wouldn’t have anything. They would have nothing.” Losurdo said.
The Easter drive-by parade will kick off in front of the Oswego Police Department at 10am sharp. On Saturday April 3rd.
For more information on the entire route the easter bunny will be taking, or future events being planned by the youth board you can call Jennifer Losurdo at (315)-349-3451 or email jlosurdo@oswegony.org
