OSWEGO, New York — As Christmas rolls around the corner, SUNY Oswego student, Tianna Morris decides to get in the giving spirit.

Christmas is all about giving and the Oswego community has come together to give away clothes, shoes and money to families in need.  The first annual Oswego Cares event was held at Premiere Living Suites (PLS) on Saturday, December 5th.  The creator of the event, Tianna wanted to do something different this year for the yearning community.

“I have volunteered and worked with non profit organizations, I wanted to give back.  I’m a senior graduating in May, I just wanted to leave my mark,” said Morris.

Over a thousand dollars was donated and more that 50 volunteers helped out. After all clothes and shoes are collected, they will be distributed just in time for Christmas.  Santa Clause may be coming to town early this year!
