Mayor Barlow, Wayne Drugs host COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. — A new partnership could help expedite the local vaccination process.

A one day COVID-19 vaccination clinic is being made possible for  City of Oswego residents after a recent partnership between local pharmacy, Wayne Drugs and Mayor Billy Barlow. The main focus of the clinic is to assist eligible senior citizens.

In Oswego County many senior citizens are left behind when it comes to scheduling vaccination appointments due to lack of internet access. Residents 65 years and older can call or visit City Hall to confirm an appointment for Saturday’s clinic.

“The senior citizens who are calling and making these appointments are so grateful and appreciative that finally they have this opportunity and can live without as much fear once they get that second dose about a month from now,” Mayor Billy Barlow said.

The vaccine clinic will be held Saturday, March 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the McCrobie Civic Center in Oswego. Barlow says this vaccine clinic is the first of what could be many for the Oswego community. For more information on the vaccine clinic, you can call the City of Oswego Clerk’s Office at 315-342-8116.
