OSWEGO, N.Y.— A longtime tradition is making its anticipated return to the Oswego State campus. OzFest 2022 is set for Friday, May 6. The annual end-of-year celebration will have a plethora of daytime activities, giveaways, free food and more.
The biggest thing students say they are looking forward to is the OzFest concert, which features artists B-Lovee and Angelo Mota, headlined by Ari Lennox.
“This is actually the first year I’ll be able to go,” said Justin Priblo, an Oswego student. “I really don’t know any of the artists, but I’m still looking forward to having a fun time.”
At previous OzFests, Oswego welcomed the likes of DNCE, Big Sean and Ella Mai. Though after last year’s virtual OzFest featured a Trippie Redd concert, some students have started to question the amount of money Oswego spends on the event, as well as the artists they choose to have perform.
“I don’t think the college is spending money very well right now,” said Jarrad Wakefield. “I would’ve been cool with OzFest if they pulled bigger artists. You look at other artists that we’ve had here before… it’s not like we can’t have big-name artists.”
While some students may be disappointed with this year’s lineup, the Student Association Programming Board say it has ensured OzFest 2022 will be fun for all.
Tickets for the concert are available now at tickets.oswego.edu for $15.
