SUNY Oswego Honors Convocation Awards

OSWEGO, N.Y. — Every year SUNY Oswego has an annual event that honors students who have excelled in their field of study or in the community.

The Honors Convocation is a tradition that recognizes award winners each spring. It will be held on Friday, April 16th at 3:00 p.m. via a live stream. The awards vary from different departments as well as different organizations such as the Oswego Alumni Association, Oswego College Foundation and the Foundation and Division of Extended Learning.

Abigail Lashinsky is one of the many students being recognized at the ceremony. She is the recipient of the David A. Campbell Memorial Award which is presented to an outstanding student who has an athletic coaching or health science minor. Abigail was very excited when she heard the news and she could not be more happy about the accomplishments she has achieved.

“I was super excited because it just shows all my hard work has paid off and that people have recognized me because this specific award wasn’t something I applied for, it was given to me”, said Abigail Lashinsky a SUNY Oswego Sophomore.

Every year they have an alumni speaker give encouragement to the award recipients. This year the keynote speaker is Phyllis Moore Holloway who graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1976 Holloway is currently the interim Executive Director of the Dunbar Association in Syracuse, New York.
