SUNY Oswego men’s and women’s hockey teams compete in playoff games Tuesday and Wednesday
SUNY Oswego athletics have had a busy week, including playoff hockey games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Oswego women’s team played the Cortland Red Dragons, as well as the men’s team.
The Oswego women’s hockey team lost in an overtime thriller when they lost by a score of 1-0. The only goal was scored around the 11-minute mark in overtime.
Women’s hockey Head Coach Mark Digby said that despite the loss, he was impressed with the goaltending.
“I mean we have had 5 shutouts in the last 7 games or might be 6 in the last 8 games or something, but we have to play great team defense first.”
The Men’s also had a playoff game on Wednesday evening. The Lakers were victorious by a score of 4-0, their sixth shutout of the season.
The Lakers men’s hockey team is heading to the Ira S. Wilson in Geneseo on Saturday to face the Geneseo Knights. In the last game the two teams competed, the Lakers lost 4-2. The game can be viewed on Boxcast for $7 at 6:30 p.m., and will also be broadcast on WNYO at 6:00.
