Things To Do: Halloween Dating Edition

Dating at any time can be difficult, wonderful, beautiful, and chaotic. Dating during Fall can be even more complex. In a world full of expenses and inflation, it can be particularly hard to find activities that bring fun and excitement to a couple. That is why I am here to help. As someone who has been with their partner from spring, into summer, and then fall; as the seasons change, so do our needs!

Halloween Cake

Pictured here is a spooky cake competition between my boyfriend and me. The total cost for cake and icing was $5.

Recently, a popular trend of boo baskets have been popping up on multiple platforms of social media. Instagram and TikTok have taken to this trend and many women are reposting it. Partners, listen up!

Linked video is boo basket I made for my boyfriend, along with mock-tail glasses and snacks for a Halloween party we’re throwing together!

If you do not have many friends, or a partner, I suggest you start dating yourself. We must love ourselves first, and pour into our cup, before we can pour into anyone else’s. Face masks, lotions, and taking yourself out to the movie theater are all wonderful ways to introduce yourself to a personal and powerful way of gaining romantic independence. Joining dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge can also be a great way to spend the season. I met my boyfriend on Tinder, and I can attest it is a great site for the ways of chivalry in 2023. As Gen Z likes to say, it is “cuffing,” season. Thirty one dates in the month of October could be your Halloween goal!

Relationships in general are not linear. Gift giving, quality time, and words of affirmation are one of the key ingredients to a healthy relationship. You must never stop cherishing your friends or partners because the moment you do, everything can fall apart! Remember to express your personal wishes and needs this holiday season, so rejoicing in happiness does not have to feel like a task! Whether it is matching Halloween costumes, baking together, throwing on a sweet horror movie, or even sleeping next to one another in cozy festive pajamas, remember it is the season of giving, or dare I say, ghouling.
