SUNY Oswego tickets back on sale after security breach
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego Box Office in the Marano Campus Center is back selling tickets after a security breach late last week.
The breach affected customers who bought tickets through the online website between the dates of Feb. 17 and Feb. 21.
Ticket sales were taken offline last Friday after the university learned of the security breach.
SUNY Oswego Athletics posted on Instagram on Monday that all ticket operations are “currently suspended.” An email followed the next day saying paper tickets would be available for fans.
“We continue to keep our online platform for tickets offline,” said Victoria Furlong, the university’s vice president for administration and finance.
Sean Moriarty, the university’s chief technology officer, said there is not much the campus itself can do to help fix the issue, but that the campus will work with AudienceView to help with what they can.
AudienceView sent an email to customers on Tuesday explaining what to do if their card has been breached. One of their tips include staying vigilant against identity theft incidents by reviewing your credit score.
The university says that online ticket sales will not return until it is deemed safe.
“I think we need to have some assurance by AudienceView that they’ve done everything in their power to ensure that their systems are, the integrity of their systems are sound,” said Furlong.
For now, tickets can only be bought in person or over the phone.
Tickets for this weekend’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and Men’s Hockey SUNYAC Finals can be purchased at any box office location.
The offices are located in Marano Campus Center, Laker Hall, and Tyler Hall. The location in Marano will be opened for extended hours on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tickets can also be purchased over the phone by calling the box office at (315) 312-3073.
