OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego Laker baseball team has claimed their straight fourth and fifth wins this week playing against the St. John Fisher Cardinals.

Both games were played at the Laker Baseball Field on the southern part of SUNY Oswego campus.

On Tuesday the Lakers won against the Cardinals, with a final of 20-14, while taking another win on Thursday in a blowout final of 11-1.

The Lakers’ center fieldman, Joe McLaughlin said that the team is ready to play this weekend.

“When they were called up, they did their job,” said McLaughlin. “We just kept rallying, played a good game, the vibes were high, and everyone did a good job, a lot of fun.”

The Lakers’ third baseman, Jelani Hamer, said he is also ready to play and looking forward to upcoming games.

“I think we know that when we’re good we’re really good,” said Hamer. “If we keep the bats hot, if we’re able to pitch the way we did today and able to make plays, we’ll be able to play really well coming into the next two conference weekends.”

The next game for the Lakers is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. The team will travel to Syracuse to take on another double header, this time with the SUNY Brockport Eagles.
