Oswego Design Club hosting its first spring art exhibition this weekend
OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Oswego Design Club’s first spring art exhibition is happening in Tyler Hall. The Design Club put together the exhibition as an opportunity for students to have their work shown in a gallery.
Design Club President Caroline Mooney thinks this is great for artistic students to get involved.
“For this time, it was just a general exhibition, so anyone who has submitted work for the show automatically got their work shown which is really exciting,” Mooney said. “Especially because a lot of our club members are first-year students or sophomores, so they haven’t had a lot of exhibition experience.”
The opening reception that displayed art pieces from 20 students was held in Corner Gallery in Tyler Hall last Friday and has been a success all week.
“The turnout was really good. We had a lot of support come out, which was really exciting,” Mooney said.
Exhibition viewers are able to vote on their favorite artwork, and the artist will be put in a raffle to win art supplies. Mooney hopes the exhibition will continue for years to come.
“This is our first exhibition that we put on,” Mooney said. “It’s definitely something that we hope to continue more in the future for years to come.”
The exhibition is located in Tyler Hall, room 208. It will be open to the public until April 2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
