Oswego’s planning board approves Taco Bell location

OSWEGO, N.Y — Developers presented a proposal for a new Taco Bell restaurant on George Street to the city’s planning board Tuesday night. With a 7-0 vote, the east side location for Taco Bell was approved.

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow said developers made two attempts for a Taco Bell in Oswego.

There was a plan for Taco Bell near Kinney Drugs. That fell through, and there was another plan for Taco Bell to go next to Dunkin Donuts, but Dunkin ended up suing that site plan, so that fell through,” Barlow said.

The new Taco Bell will be built on the opposite end of the city at 147 George Street, where the former Ponderosa used to be.

Taco Bell franchisee Applicant Hospitality Syracuse Inc. now waits for the approval of the zoning board to begin construction.
