FULTON, N.Y. — For Nicole Ginsburg, the month of October is her busiest. As production and public relations director of Frightmare Farms, Ginsburg is constantly supervising the festivities that occur at the seasonal Halloween attraction. For the last ten years, she has worked at Frightmare Farms something that has become a family affair
“My boys are as much of a part of this as possible. They are only six. But we have a lot of fun,” Ginsburg said.
Frightmare Farms has three different trails throughout the property each with their own distinct themes. Customers can also enjoy the escape room, Halloween snacks and live music throughout the night. The biggest concern for management this year is safety between customers and performers. Scare actor and zone leader Zakary Haines knows this first hand. For the four years he’s been at Frightmare Farms, he has seen fellow employees assaulted by customers on the trails. He himself was punched once by a frightened customer. It for situations like this that each Trail has zone leaders like Haines.
“So that way in case of an emergency, we can get customers and also our workers out,” Haines said.
While the possibility of getting hurt is always there, Haines loves his job. For him it’s a stress reliever from his current studies at SUNY Oswego. Frightmare Farms will finish it season on Halloween Night and take a hiatus till next September.
